South Norwood

South Norwood is a superb place to live. It is situated in the Local Authority of Croydon and is covered by the SE25 postcode. There are serveral parks in South Norwood, namely South Norwood Lakes which has a bowling green, tennis and basketball courts, football pitches, cricket pitch, playground and a lake which is used for sailing and fishing. South Norwood Country Park which has a children's playground, designated cycle path, wetland and lake and wild flower meadows.

There is also a leisure centre with swimming pool. The High Street has a number of supermarkets, restaurants, coffee shops and highly recommended gastro pubs.


Norwood Junction and Selhurst train stations are in Travelcard Zone 4, with frequent direct services running to London Bridge and Victoria. Norwood Junction is also on the London Overground East London Line. It is also well served by bus routes going to Brixton, Croydon, Crystal Palace, New Addington, Peckham, Elephant and Castle and many more.

South Norwood is also one of the few boroughs to have a tram which goes to Croydon, Mitcham, Wimbledon, Addiscombe, Beckenham and many more places in between.


There are many primary schools in the South Norwood area including Heavers Farm Primary School, South Norwood Primary School, Cypress Junior School and Cypress Infant School, St. Chad's Roman Catholic Primary School, St. Mark's Primary School and Ryelands Primary School.

There are 2 secondary schools in the South Norwood area, The Harris Adademy South Norwood and Harris Academy Crystal Palace.
